The City of Elkhart Parks and Recreation Department and the Pillars of Elkhart would like to invite you to come out and celebrate the Elkhart community this spring at the “We Give” Spring Celebration on Saturday, April 28th from 11am to 4pm.  The Celebration kicks off with a 5K run and 1.5 mile family fun walk and continues with a festival in downtown Elkhart’s Central Park that includes a climbing wall from the National Guard, crafts, vendors, games and more.  Get a team together to enter the Cornhole Tournament, Tug-Of-War or Bed Races ($10 per team).  Live entertainment begins at noon with performances from BAD Entertainment, Heartland County Cloggers, Magician Steve Vaught, Pyrotation Nation and Urban Renewal.  There is fun for the whole family!  Donations of non-perishable food items, new or gently used linens, eye glasses and hearing aids will also be collected.  All the proceeds go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County, Santa’s Pantry and the Elkhart County Women’s Shelter.Come out and support these local nonprofits and give back to Elkhart.  Race fees and registration can be found at www.elkhartindiana.org/parks.  For more information call the City of Elkhart Parks and Recreation Department at 574-295-7572.
