Children’s Book Review: Treehouse Treasury by Laura Sidsworth

One of the fun things about having a blog is doing product reviews! People send me things, and I get to write about how well I like the things! I have never had a product to review that I didn’t like, and this book is no exception.

Several months ago I was given a copy of this wonderful book to review called Treehouse Treasury, by Laura Sidsworth. It is a unique compilation of poems that takes the reader through the seasons of the year. My children and I absolutely adore the poetry as well as the beautifully painted illustrations, by Joni Anttila.

My favorite thing about this particular book is how it is different from many children’s books. Rather than being a start-to-finish story, each poem stands alone as a separate work, and yet they tie together in a general theme. I appreciate being able to expose my children to a different style of writing, that is still enjoyable to read as well as beautiful to look at.

It is definitely getting to be the time to shop for the holidays. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a gift for a special child in your life. It is available in hardcover, paperback, and ebook on iTunes. You can find the Treehouse Treasure website here; facebook page here; and purchase on Amazon here.
